Tbilisi, Georgia: At village Dighomi, in Tbilisi, 3,000 sq.m. Sports fields and recreation areas were set up in the Metropolitan (M) Area. The Mayor of the capital Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, got acquainted with the deputy mayor, Kakha Guledan.
This area received appropriate parking infrastructure, a children’s entertainment zone, LED lights, and irrigation systems. In addition, different types of trees and rolling grass were planted to make the square greener.
The Capital’s Mayor mentioned, “Although it wasn’t a big area, we were able to design it as correctly as possible.” A small football field, basketball court, and recreation area were set up in the area. It was quite an important project for this settlement because there was nothing here. The maximum was made out of the area.
He also noted that, notably, in the distance, a vast space is earmarked for a potential 100-meter stadium. We have committed to discussing this ambitious project with the football federation and implementing it in the future, demonstrating our long-term vision for the area.
“It’s great to see so many young and little ones interested in football. After the success of the Georgian national team, our interest in football has increased even more, and everything will be done on our part to promote the development of football, in general, sport and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle in the direction of infrastructure,” said Kakha Kaladze.
Saburtalo district spokesman Gizo Vasadze and Tbilisi city council majority deputy Avtandil Tsintsadze were also present.
It’s worth noting that the football and basketball courts have been meticulously designed and arranged to meet the highest modern standards, ensuring the best possible experience for the users.
A substantial amount of 1 300 000 GEL was allocated from the budget of the Saburtalo district board for the project, demonstrating our strong commitment to the development of sports and recreational facilities in the community.
