Georgia: The Ministry of Sports provided inventory and equipment to the sports institutions and clubs of Akhmeti, Tianeti, Dusheti, Khashuri, Kareli and Gori municipalities. This will help sportspersons to practice at local sports clubs.

The Georgian Ministry of Culture and Sports continues to transfer sports equipment and equipment purchased for highland municipalities. This time, the municipalities of Akhmeti, Tianeti, Dusheti, Khashuri, Kareli, and Gori received inventory and equipment.

First Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia Yoseb Bagaturia, Member of Parliament Dimitri Khundadze, State Trustee in Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region David Nozadze, local self-government representatives, veteran athletes and local sports organizations and clubs were present. Two-time Karate World Champion and European Games attended the transfer of inventory and equipment.

As part of the “State Program for Financial Assistance and Sports Development Support for Coaches Employed in Sports in Highlands Settlements,” a group of the Ministry’s staff conducted a survey to study the needs of coaches and their students in 25 highland municipalities. Municipalities have a shortage of sports equipment and urgently need new inventory and equipment.

Some were injured and needed to be replaced, and the circumstances would adversely affect the quality of training, increase the risk of injuries, and hinder the development of the sport.

Based on the analysis of the monitoring results, the Ministry has asked “SportsmenService” Ltd. to purchase the appropriate sports equipment for athletes to develop and promote mass sports. The Ministry has allocated budget funds.

Within the framework of 25 municipalities’ sports schools and institutions, as well as sports federations, the company purchased 8355 units of various sports equipment worth 3 788 620 GEL.

It is noteworthy that this project is unprecedented – for the first time in Highland Municipalities, needs monitoring was conducted and inventory was given to sports organizations in these regions.

Each municipality was given inventory and equipment to the heads of sports organizations and clubs.

It is noteworthy that sports inventory in municipalities will be used by the educators of sports organizations and by the members of the national and national teams, if necessary. Sports inventory and equipment will be handed over to municipalities and federations.
