Leri Khabelov, the president of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia, congratulated the citizens on Christmas and New Year. He also apprised the people of the various activities and achievements of the sportsmen of the country in the last year of 2023.

A few days ago, at the important session of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia, we summed up the Sports Year 2023, and at the ceremony we awarded the laureates of the Sports Year in various nominations.
In 2023, our sportsman have gained important victories in several types of sports. They have gained success in major international competitions.
It has been confirmed once again that sport is one of the most advanced fields in Georgia. All this success was achieved by the joint and purposeful work of the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Sports, sporting organisations, coaches, medical staff, athletes, support from the government, our partners, Mass Media and numerous fans.
In the year 2024, the Paris Olympic Games are ahead. It is now upon us to make a special effort to obtain as many licenses as possible and successfully compete at the quadrennial forum, able to sing our national anthem and raise the flag many times with prideI’m sure we will definitely complete this important task with our all joint effort.
On behalf of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia I have the honour to congratulate our brave Olympians, athletes of different generations, coaches, representatives of sports federations and other sports organisations, medical-technical staff, sports media, SEOK partners, sports fans, whole Georgia on Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

He said that the Georgian government had launched many initiatives to upgrade the sports level of the country. He also said that in the next year of 2024, more support will be extended to sports people so that they can make the country proud at the Paris Olympic games.
President, while extending best wishes, also encouraged the sportsmen of the country as well as motivated them to practice and work hard so that more success can be achieved in the field of sports history of Georgia.
As per the president the players of Georgia have great potential to make the country shine at the Paris Olympic Games scheduled to be held next year.
