He is going to be the referee this time in Paris at the XXXIII Summer Olympics. The decision in this regard was taken yesterday and later on behalf of the IJF official letter was issued in this regard to Vladimir Nutsubidze.

Born in 1969 in Tbilisi, Georgia he gained recognition by officiating the Olympic Games in Rio held in the year 2016. He also was a referee in the European, World Championship, and Olympic Games. Moreover he acted as a referee almost at every edition of the European championships held between 2005 and 2019.

It is also to be added that he had been awarded in the 2017 as the best Male Referee of the Year by the EJU (European Judo Union) and is int. referee since 1999. He officiated many World Championships finals.

It is also to be added that is the world license holder since 2007. He has been a referee in dozens of major competitions, including the World Championships and European Championships.

He is the only Georgian referee in judo who was honored to be a referee at the Olympic Games. At the Rio de Janeiro Games of 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Games he was awarded several medal matches including the final best Olympic referee title.

Vladimir Nutsubidze has been at the top of the international rating of referees several times. IJF’s decision yesterday is another confirmation of its highly qualified authority among international judo judges. This is the reward by the IJF for the contribution of Vladimir Nutsubidze towards the Judo.
