Georgia: The Georgian national football team held a friendly match with Montenegro before the start of the European Championship at Podgorica Stadium. The match ended with the victory of Georgian footballers, with the score 3:1.
The score was opened in the 10th minute with Otar Kiteishvili’s goal, and in the 33rd minute, Giorgi Mikautadze increased the Georgian team’s advantage. The first half ended with the Crusaders’ victory 2:0.
In the second half of the match, in the 66th minute, the hosts were able to reduce the score with Stevan Jovetich’s goal, but Budu Zivzivadze, who entered the field in the 84th minute, restored his double-ball advantage.
It is remembered that after defeating Greece in the final of the European Championship Qualifying Stage at the “Dinamo Arena”, the Georgian national team won the right to compete in the final “Euro 2024” stage for the first time in history.
The team held a training meeting for the European Championship in Austria. The team trained by Willi Sanioli will play its first match in Group F against Turkey on June 18, 2024 face the Czech Republic on June 22, 2024 and face Portugal on June 26, 2024.
“Euro 2024” will be hosted by Germany from June 14 to July 14.
The Georgian national football team represents Georgia in men’s international football matches and is controlled by the Georgian Football Federation. The team’s first match took place in 1990 while Georgia was still part of the Soviet Union.
The Montenegro national football team has represented Montenegro in men’s international football since 2007. It is controlled by the Football Association of Montenegro, the governing body for football in Montenegro. Montenegro’s home ground is Podgorica City Stadium in Podgorica.
