Georgia: The Georgian Scientist of the Agricultural Scientific Research Center, or the Scientific Research Center of Agriculture (SRCA), participated in the program organized by Geisenheim University.
Tekle Zakalashvili, the head of the research service of microclonic (in vitro) plant reproduction and non-virus fertilizer materials at the invitation of the University of Heisenheim in Germany, participated in the program – “Challenges and opportunities-Sustainability as an integral part in 21st-century vineyard-winemaking”.
The professors of Gaisenheim University conducted enlightening seminars on topics such as plant reproduction, disease-resistant grape varieties, and non-alcoholic beverage production. The aim of the program is to share existing international experience in the sector and enrich the knowledge of the participants for implementation in their respective countries.
Tekle Zakalashvili participated in the “Symposium of the Future” (“Zukunftsymposium”), where he introduced the students of Gisenheim University and other program participants to the unique processes and potential of the field in Georgia’s agricultural sector.
The Georgian side also organized a wine tasting, fostering a cultural exchange as international students and professors were introduced to Georgian wine and the rich history of Georgian vineyard-winery.
The program included hands-on learning experiences such as inspection of test bases, laboratories, local wineries, and cellars in the Raingau region, providing practical insights into the industry.
These programs play a crucial role in fostering international cooperation, creating close relations between countries, and deepening the collaboration between agricultural organizations and educational institutions in scientific research.
