Tbilisi, Georgia: An Award ceremony for successful Tbilisi Athletes was held on January 20, 2025, in the hotel- ‘Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace.’ The event was organized by the Civil Service of Culture, Education, Sports, and Youth Affairs of Tbilisi City Hall.

The successful athletes from Tbilisi, European and World Championships winners, Olympic and Paralympic Games winners, and the National Championship top league have been awarded cash awards and symbolic prizes for Tbilisi City Hall.
The President of SEOK, Leri Khabelov honored the successful athletes by giving them prizes and appreciated them for their hard work and dedication towards their sport. The Minister also expressed his warm gratitude towards the athletes for their commitment to their sport.
In addition to five women’s teams and one amputee football team, 185 Tbilisi athletes received awards for their achievements in the Georgia High League. Athletes will get a total of one million GEL in 2024 for their sports achievements. The program has been functioning since 2018 and has already been awarded more than 1,000 athletes.
Within the framework of this year’s award event, in addition to the winners of Europe and the World Cup, the winners of 5 nominations were announced:
- The most successful project of the year – 7 × 7 football
- The best sportsman of the year – Giga Ochkhikidze
- The best sportswoman of the year – Ana Japaridze
- The best sportsman of the year – Giorgi Mamardashvili
- The best sportswoman of the year – Ether Liparteliani
The winners were announced as a result of a survey conducted among sports journalists.
