One of the region’s prominent book fairs, the “Tbilisi Book Fair” 2024 has ended. Many national, regional, and international publishers and booksellers participated in the fair which took place from May 30 to June 2, 2024, at ExpoGeorgia.
The festival was held at the Expo Georgia’s different pavilions and displayed a unique traditional format. The main stands of the book fair at ExpoGeorgia featured Georgian publishers as well as various organizations. The books of the Georgian publishers and organizations were located in Pavilion 11, whereas the children’s books and related accessories were displayed in Pavilions 6 and 5.
It should be mentioned explicitly that the main stage for literary events was set up as part of the festival, along with a cognitive entertainment corner for young visitors. At the same time, the “Actors for Literature” program was also organized on the sidelines of the book fair where many Georgian authors presented readings of their selected books.
Another significant development was the American Education Corner. This American education corner was erected to provide free consultations to students through seminars by representatives from the education center LEAF.
For the first time in the fair’s history a flea market was organized outside the front of Pavilions 4 and 5, where local entrepreneurs offered various accessories and Georgian products to visitors.
The organizers made special arrangements for those who could not attend the event personally. For them, the event was live-streamed on Facebook. Book lovers across Georgia have the opportunity to purchase their favorite selected books at festival prices via online mediums through their online digital partner.
It is worth noting that the Tbilisi International Book Festival this year was sponsored by the US Embassy in Georgia and supported by the Tbilisi City Hall administration.
Interestingly TBC Bank was the festival’s main partner whereas the Veli. store was the digital partner and the media holding “Palitra” was the festival’s media supporter. The book fair has witnessed a huge footfall of book lovers from all over the country who come to purchase the books of their interest.
