Georgia: Tbilisi City Hall posts on its official Facebook page about the restriction on moving heavy vehicles on the bridge named after Grigori Topchishvili on the river Dighmura.
The post mentioned that these restrictions are temporary and are being implemented primarily for your safety. The maintenance of the bridge is also a key factor in these measures. In the Saburtalo district, the movement of heavy vehicles on the bridge named after Grigori Topchishvili, located on White Dukni Street and the Dighmura River, will be temporarily restricted.
Following thorough monitoring by the Civil Service of Infrastructure Development of Tbilisi City Hall and based on specialists’ recommendations, it has been determined that the current condition of the Dighmura Bridge does not support the movement of heavy vehicles at this stage. This decision is made with everyone’s safety in mind. This restriction, however, does not apply to light vehicles.
Due to the restriction imposed on the bridge, traffic on Petre Sarajishvili Street will be temporarily possible from the bridge to the intersection of Vaso Godziashvili Street from September 3 this year, 00:00. Vehicles with a height of 2.8 meters will be restricted to crossing the bridge. They can travel using the new road connecting Marshal Gelovani and Mukhran Machavariani, through Vaso Godziashvili Street, and turn left towards Petre Sarajishvili Street.
For safety, the public transport scheme will also be changed. Specifically, in the period of restrictions, buses N327, N367, and N389 bus routes in the direction of Vashlijvri, will connect from Marshall Gelovani Avenue to Petre Sarajishvili Street with a right turn, after which they will continue to travel according to the established scheme on Godziashvili Street. This change is necessary to ensure the safety of all passengers and to accommodate the temporary traffic restrictions.
Tbilisi City Hall sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these necessary changes.
