Tbilisi: Concert held in memory of Giorgi Tsabadze’

An impressive concert was held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia in loving memory of Georgian Composer Gogi Tsabadze at Tbilisi State Concert Hall on his 100th anniversary.

An impressive concert was held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia in loving memory of Georgian Composer Giorgi Tsabadze. The concert was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports at Tbilisi State Concert Hall on Giorgi Tsabadze’s 100th anniversary.

Giorgi Tsabadze’is regarded as one of the best music composers. His work spread the rich heritage of Georgian culture to many countries around the world. The concert was attended by many dignitaries who recalled Giorgi Tsabadze’’s contribution to spreading Georgian music culture in many countries as well.

The prominent figures who attended it were Bidzina Ivanishvili the founder of the “Kartu” charity foundation and a great supporter of Georgian culture  together with her husband. The Minister of Culture and Sports Thea Tsulukiani, member of the Parliament of Georgia Beka Odisharia, famous artist Giorgi Tsabadze’’s family members, colleagues, friends, and other guests also remember the legendary composer on this occasion.

It is to be noted that the theme of the gala concert was “Giorgi Tsabadze in Theater and Cinema” and many representatives of theater and cinema who loved Georgia’s rich art and heritage participated in it. Accompanied by the Georgian Women’s Chamber Orchestra and Davit Mazanashvili’s band compositions were also organised.

The participants with their performance brought to life scenes from famous musicals, movies and plays. The guests also learned about Giorgi Tsabadze’’s life and struggles. The othesr who graced event with their attendance includes  Murman Jinoria, Rezo Chkhikvishvili, Nanuli Sarajishvili, Aleksandre Begalishvili, Eka Mamaladze, Maya Jabua, Tamar Hvidtsiteli, Neka Sebiskveradze, Achiko Sologhashvili, Achiko Gogitidze, Otar Georgikia, Mariko Ebralidze, Nutsa Buzaladze, Sofo Khalvashi.

Davit Mazanashvili was the artistic director of the event and Nikoloz Tsulukidze wrote the script and hosted the evening. As it is known August 24 marked the 100th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

So in connection with the anniversary year a festival was created within the framework of which gala concerts were held in four big cities. Previously these were held in  Batumi, Kutaisi and Telavi and now they are in the capital Tbilisi. Many famous singers and actors took part in the events. Moreover all the concerts were completely different from each other.
