One more recreational space will be added to the Samgori district. Works in the Orkhevi settlement, near Tengiz Chantladze’s Chikhi N2a, following the demolition of illegal fences, are carried out on a 2,600 sq.m. area.
The Tbilisi City Hall shared glimpses of the construction works being carried out in the Samgori district on its official Facebook Page on July 11, 2026, Saturday. The City Hall also shared a small note about the works along with its glimpses.
Within the scope of the project, recreation and children’s entertainment spaces, as well as a pavilion, are being created. Outdoor lighting and irrigation systems are being installed at this stage. Greening works will also be carried out.
At the end of the works, the Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, met with the Deputy Mayor, Irakli Bendeliani.
“In the Orkhevi settlement, the Samgori district board is implementing a very good project. A recreational space is being built on the territory. It is important to complete these works because the on-site situation was very difficult. There were old, abandoned tanks, which were not functioning and were a danger, primarily, to children. The dismantling of the mentioned ponds has already been carried out. The space is about to get completely cleaned up. Attractions have been made for children, as well as an exercise area and rest pavilion. The area will be completely green. Irrigation and lighting systems will be set up. A very good and pleasant space will be created for the residents,” Kakha Kaladze said.
Up to 629,000 GEL will be spent from the Board’s budget for the implementation of the project.
Along with the mayor of the capital, Samgori speaker Kakha Samkharadze, Parliament delegate Varla Liparteliani and Sakrebulo Majoritarian deputy Mamuka Khabareli inspected the ongoing works.
