Tbilisi, Georgia: The first concert of the Toradze Music Festival, “Georgian Choir“ was held in the great hall of the State Conservatory named after Vano Sarajishvili in Tbilisi. The concert was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia and the Foundation, on June 7, 2025, Saturday.
The Ministry of Culture of Georgia shared glimpses of the concert on its official Facebook page. The Ministry also shared a small note related to the concert along with the photographs.
The third festival dedicated to the memory of composer David Toradze and pianist and teacher Alexander (Lexo) Toradze was opened with Gogi Chlaidze’s piano concert – “Kaleidoscope“, which the composer dedicated to Lexo Toradze.
The works were performed by pianist Vakhtang Kodanashvili and Gia Kancheli Tbilisi Youth Orchestra conducted by Mirian Khukhunaishvili. Ludwig van Beethoven’s seventh symphony was performed at the concert.
The Minister of Culture of Georgia addressed the attending society. Tinatin Rukhadze spoke about the importance of the festival and wished success to the participants.
Tinatin Rukhadze stated, ” I have a special love for this festival and the orchestra. Notably, she has contributed to the foundation and idea of both. Minister Rukhadze is proud that her country will have so many young people in professional, classical music.
According to her, they have done a lot by the Ministry of Culture to make this festival happen this year. “Thankful that you are going out to the regions and wanting to attract more young people into classical music,” she added.
She also wished them and said, “Good luck with your festival, Toradzes for the future! I believe that Toradzes and the Ministry of Culture will do a lot for the future!”
The First Deputy Minister of Culture of Georgia Maka Gurgenidze also attended the evening. The festival will continue until June 18. The Concerts will be held in Tbilisi and various other regions.
