Tbilisi, Georgia: The Capital City of Georgia, Tbilisi hosts the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (TBILISI RFSD) titled – “Role of Peace in Sustainable Socio-Economic Development”. The event is organized by the Economic Development Civil Service of Tbilisi City Hall.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze opened the forum with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze with a welcome speech. In his speech, the mayor of the capital emphasized the importance of peace and thanked international organizations, representatives of local municipalities, experts, all forum participants, and the public for their participation in the event.
The mayor noted, This year’s forum is the largest in scale yet its theme is “Role of peace in sustainable socio-economic development” which is directly in touch with our common mission – to keep the peace.
He also stated, “We have been told many times that not only in our country but in the region and in general, in the world, today peace has no alternative.” “Therefore, we must all do our best to maintain peace because it enables us to bring about economic development and progress in the country,” Kakha Kaladze added.
Notably, this year’s forum will address important issues such as healthcare access and innovation, environment and ecology, the real estate market, and recent trends in construction. Participants at the event will also discuss demographics and migration, spatial arrangements, transport reform, and other important topics needed for urban development.
Within the framework of the Tbilisi Regional Forum for Sustainable Development (TBILISI RFSD), the capital annually hosts local and international speakers, experts from various fields, representatives of municipalities, and academia.
The purpose of the event is to share experiences, contemporary approaches, and ideas that create a sustainable and long-term perspective for cooperation building and urban development. The forum will cover topics such as:
sustainable economic development
8,000-year-old traditional winemaking
healthcare access and innovations
renewable energy use and development
the circular economy, modern trends in the construction sector, and more.
The members of the Georgian government, mayors of municipalities and representatives of the city council, local and international speakers, experts from various fields, as well as representatives of the business sector, academic circles, and diplomatic corps will participate in the forum.
