A drainage network will be built in this area, damaged water pipes will be replaced, and communication networks will be placed underground. The Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze got acquainted with Vice-Mayor Giorgi Tkemaladze about ongoing works.
The Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, noted that rehabilitation works are underway on Aleksidze Street. This is the area near the Sports Palace, which was in a very bad condition – the underground communications were completely suppressed, flooding the basements and car parks for residents. Even these communications companies themselves did not have information about which network was broadcasting where.
According to him, all these changes will be implemented now, and all underground communications will be renewed. Underlay of asphalt paving will be laid in this area by September 20, and sidewalks will be arranged, but the work will continue. There is only one building, a garbage shed, which will be dismantled, and a resting space will be arranged in its place.
Within the project, 15,000 sq. m. of Asphalt paving will be laid, sidewalks will be laid, an outdoor lighting system will be installed, and zebra crossings will be lined with disabled-adapted ramps and tactile paths. Also, parking lots will be tidied up.
