Tbilisi: Levan Kharanauli hosts exhibition at Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery

Tbilisi, Georgia: Levan Kharanauli launched her solo exhibition in the Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery on October 19, 2023 at 6 PM. The exhibition will continue until November 15.

Tbilisi, Georgia: Levan Kharanauli launched her solo exhibition in the Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery on October 19, 2023 at 6 PM. The exhibition will continue until November 15.

With the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia, Kharanauli is hosting this exhibition. The works presented at the exhibition are gathered from the families of the artist and his relatives.

During the exhibition, the National Gallery’s owner introduced everyone to the biography of Levan Kharanauli. The exhibition’s opening was attended by representatives of the art field, the artist’s family and other invited guests.

Levan Kharanauli was born in Tbilisi in 1963. In 1986, he graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, where he pursued a Fine Arts degree under Parnaoz Lapiashvili’s guidance.

Since 1978, Levan has actively participated in exhibitions in Georgia and internationally. He is also recognized for his exceptional work as a book illustrator. He has artistically signed several books.

Levan Kharanauli draws what is around him, what makes him happy, what he loves and what keeps humanity alive. Kharanauli’s artwork is a reflection of his inner world and his surroundings. His paintings often depict the things that bring him joy that he holds dear and that contribute to his sense of reality.

The paintings showcased in the exhibition have been sourced from private collections owned by individuals who have appreciated and valued Levan Kharanauli’s artistic creations for years. Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery will host the exhibition until November 15.

About Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery

Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery is located in the capital of Georgia, in Tbilisi, on Rustaveli Avenue. It is in the membership of National Museums and represents one of the most important and main Georgian exhibition spaces. It is also known as “Blue Gallery”.

The building was fully painted in blue, and the form here strengthened the name “Blue Gallery”. Nowadays, it is in pearl-grey.

In the National Gallery, there are presented permanent expositions, as well as periodic exhibitions of Georgian and foreign artists and painters.

The Gallery is a very interesting and impressive place for people interested in art. Here, everyone can become acquainted with Georgian painters’ masterpieces and compare them with foreigners.
