Tbilisi, Georgia: The Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, got acquainted with the ongoing road works in Gldani district, Mukhiani buildings, and Khvanchkara street on Monday, August 18, 2025.
Within the framework of the project, drainage and water networks were installed on this street, and at this stage 4 000 sq.m. The last layer of asphalt pavement is laid on an area of up to a meter, for which up to a million GEL will be spent from the local budget.
According to the Mayor of Tbilisi, an Infrastructural project is being implemented on Mukhiani buildings. It was a very difficult situation here years ago – it was physically impossible to drive, and there was no underground communication. Notably, they promised the population that they would start implementing a project which would provide all necessary underground communication, arrange road infrastructure, and mobilize public transport.
“The project is well underway on Shaw Street, but we’re not stopping there, as there are still many streets and gravel to do. Also, at the request of the local people, we are carrying out a much-needed project in the upper settlement – a drainage system is being assembled, a collector is being installed, which will be connected to Borjomi Street. We continue the work and want to fully cover the mentioned settlement shortly, – said Kakha Kaladze.
It is worth noting that the road arrangement on Mukhiani buildings, Vardisubani IV corner, Nekres, Daisi, Borjomi, Vani, and Boriti streets has already been completed. On the eighth street, a total of up to seven kilometers of road section, 30,000 sq.m. The meter area will be rehabilitated, for which up to 4,000,000 GEL will be spent from the budget of the Gldani Board. Before the road works, water and drainage networks were also set up in the area.
In addition, the board plans to arrange a collector, which will be joined by a certain section of Borjomi Street and the drainage systems of other streets planned afterwards. The project documentation has already been prepared, and the tender has been announced for the works.
Together with Kakha Kaladze, Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Irakli Bendeliani, Gldani’s representative Besik Kaladze, District Majority MP Konstantine Zarnadze, and Parliament delegate Vladimir Bozhadze got acquainted with the ongoing works on Khvanchkara Street.
