Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor capital city Tbilisi have visited new skating park and sports facility. This new park and field in located near the N5 building in Isni district, Vazisubani settlement.
The park which covers approximately 2,500 square meters, is part of an ongoing urban renewal initiative. These initiatives are being led by the Civil Service of Culture, Education, Sports, and Youth Affairs of Tbilisi City Hall.
On his visit to the park Mayor Kaladze emphasized the significance of this project. He underlined, it represents a major step in improving public spaces for recreational and sports activities in the capital Tbilisi.
At the same time he said, this is great project which has been realized in the Vazisubani settlement. A modern skate park has been established here which is fulfils all international standards. Mayor also stated, Â Both spaces are well-lit and are already very popular among the locals of different ages as well.
As per Tbilisi administration this project is part of a broader plan to revitalize public areas across Tbilisi with special focus to those in underserved neighbourhoods.
It is also noteworthy that both parks were designed not only to meet local demand but also to provide safe, accessible spaces for young people to engage in physical activities which will produce world class sports persons.
The first phase of the park’s rehabilitation was completed last year and work is set to continue through the end of 2025 for all other facilities also. Kaladze also pointed out the growing number of skate parks in capital aims to support urban sports and encourage a healthy lifestyle among the capital’s residents.
The project executed by coordination of local authorities and foreign experts, ensuring that the park and sports field were built to international standards.
Similarly the total cost of the works amounted to 2.77 million GEL can be called a special investment in the city’s recreational infrastructure. Mayor reiterated that more such development projects will be created in future also.
