Tbilisi: The Ministry of Defense of Georgia has continued its territorial reserve program. A new subdivision was added to the 10th personnel brigade of the National Guard. 104th battalion has also been formed for the first time, which comprises of the reservists of the Samtskhe-Javakheti region. The reservists took the military oath at Rabat prison.
 The Commander of the National Guard, Brigadier General Roman Jokhadze, congratulated them on joining the reserve and wished him success in the service of the country. After the National Anthem of Georgia, the reservists paid a minute’s silence to the memory of the military servicemen killed in combat and international missions.
Representatives of the Defense Forces presented them with certificates and memorable gifts. Reservists were blessed by Father John the Chaplain. The oath ceremony was attended by representatives of the National Guard and local authorities.
The intensive combat training of the reservists includes a period of up to 45 days in a year and is divided equally over 12 months. The main purpose of the training course is to provide real combat skills for reservists at subdivision field assemblies.Â
During the passing of the territorial reservation, reservists will be provided with social and legal protection. After the completion of one reserve service contract, students are considered to have completed military compulsory service.Â
Admission to reserve is voluntary and paid. Georgian citizens from 18 to 51 years old, living in Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Kakheti, Imereti, Samegrelo, Adjara, Guria and Kvemo Kartli regions, will be accepted in the territorial reserve, including students from 18 to 22 years old.Â
The citizens enrolled in the territorial reserve will be signed a 4-year contract. Their monthly salary is 20% of the title Sargo, and when they are in the subdivision, they will take their full salary. The minimum annual salary of a reservist enrolled in the reserve is 2700 GEL.
