Georgia: The organizational headquarters of “Tbilisi Silk Road Forum” was officially opened in the “Biltmore” hotel. According to Genadi Arveladze, Chief of Staff, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, the active work of the staff will ensure that the country is fully prepared for the international-level event.
“We are in the active phase of preparatory work. This year’s forum is unprecedentedly large, welcoming guests from both in the region and from outside the region – prime ministers, deputy prime ministers, ministers, and representatives of the private sector. Compared to previous years, the forum has reached a very high level. This is important in the wake of the turbulence that is happening in the region or outside the region – interest in Georgia is not decreasing. It is noteworthy that this year an unprecedented number of guests expressed their desire to participate in the forum, – said the deputy minister.
Tbilisi will host the “Silk Road Forum” on October 22-23. The forum, which is being held for the fifth time, will be held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Georgia and will focus on issues that will contribute significantly to strengthening Georgia’s position, including in the “Middle Hall” route. The main topics of this year’s forum include international trade, investment, transport and logistics, energy and energy security, digital economy, and technology.
“The forum will have the opportunity to host international investors from both the region and the Persian Gulf countries, including Mohammad Ali Alabar, founder of the Emaar Group and Eagle Hills.” It is important that he takes part in discussions that will focus on Georgia’s investment opportunities. During the forum, we will have the opportunity to present the opportunities in our country directly to international investors, – said Genadi Arveladze.
As Genadi Arveladze noted, one of the main goals of the forum is also to present ongoing and planned large infrastructure projects, such as Anaklia Deepwater Port, the modernization of Georgian Railway and Tbilisi New Airport Projects, the development of road infrastructure, and others.
“In connection with these projects, international investors and financial institutions should be provided with information on what kind of investments the state plans to implement.” “Furthermore, it is important to have discussions between the private and public sectors to ensure maximum involvement of the private sector in these projects,” said the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.
The event will be attended by 2000 delegates from more than 50 countries, including high-ranking politicians. On October 22, 7 panel sessions will be held, moderated by the world’s leading and recognized representatives.
