Tbilisi, Georgia: The employees of the Tbilisi Prosecutor’s Office for the Fight Against Tbilisi’s Privacy, in January-February 2026, identified 12 persons in seven different criminal cases, breaching the secrets of private communication and forcing other sexual acts.
The charges were filed against the person who illegally obtained and stored the personal materials of the victims through various Internet applications, and by threatening to distribute the materials obtained, he forced the victims to perform other sexual acts (7 episodes in total).
The accused is in jail on another criminal case, and the judge will discuss the date of the pre-trial hearing in the coming days. He was charged with offenses under Article 157 Prima, Part 1, and Article 139 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
6 persons have been charged in 4 different criminal cases, including 3 minors, who illegally obtained, stored, and distributed photos and video materials containing intimate content of the minor. Three minors have been charged with a crime under Article 157 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (the case of covering the event will be discussed), and three individuals have been charged under the same article.
Also, a criminal prosecution was launched against two persons who secretly recorded and kept a video recording of the victim’s private and sexual life. Defendants in other criminal cases are serving sentences in a penitentiary institution. Both of them are charged with committing a crime under Article 157 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
3 people installed a sound recording device in a small child’s accessory (helmet), which was taken to the child to record private conversations in the residence of the victim and his family members. All three of them were charged under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
