Tbilisi, Georgia: The Gldani District Board in Tbilisi began restoring the square close to the third micro district’s buildings N3a–3b. Tbilisi City Hall shared glimpses of the rehabilitation work on its official Facebook page. Along with the photographs, the City Hall also shared a small note about the project.
The Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze together with the Deputy Mayor Irakli Bendeliani visited the construction site on May 5, 2025, Monday. The ongoing projects were got acquainted by both of them. In the first phase, the illegal garages in the area were demolished and replaced.
The Mayor of the capital city talked with the residents of the municipality. He explained the process noting that, “In the third microdistrict of Gldani, the space between the buildings is being arranged, where the situation was very difficult.” “Unused sheds were placed on the territory, ” he added.
According to him, with the involvement and cooperation of the local people, ten sheds were dismantled. Therefore, he wanted to express his warm gratitude to them.
He noted, “The mentioned space will be used for recreation. A work in progress, which will take approximately two to three weeks to complete. Within the framework of the rehabilitation, walking paths, rest pavilions, and training spaces are considered. The area will be green and trees will be planted. “
“The second phase of work is planned for next year. Right here, 3,000 sqft near the buildings. The meter is going to be completely sorted. We have warehouses there too, they will be dismantled and a recreational space will be arranged,” said Kakha Kaladze.
Key highlights of the project
As part of the project, a recreation pavilion, kids’ entertainment and fitness spaces, and outdoor table tennis have already been built in buildings N3a–3b. Additinally, irrigation and outdoor lighting have been pitched, along with landscaping, grass cutting, and tree planting.
Along with the mayor of Tbilisi, Besik Kaladze, district majority deputy Konstantine Zarnadze and parliament delegate Vladimir Bozhadze were also present at the site.
Cost of renovation
Moreover, it should be noted that up to 369 000 GEL will be spent on these works from the budget of the Board.
