Tbilisi State University’s Reactor Opnes event of GGSB

Jaba Samushia the Reactor of Tbilisi State University opened the international event. This event is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Georgian-German Scientific Bridge (GGSB).

The event will also host members of the scientific and student communities across the country and other parts of the world. During the one-week scientific festival, Georgian scientists invited foreign experts and students will present the results of joint research achieved within the framework of GGSB.

The experts will also read their reports  and a course of lectures on topical topics such as hadronic therapy, visualization of medical images, applications of artificial intelligence in science and others will also be discussed.

The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Jaba Samushia  also addressed the event attendees. He spoke about the history of the establishment of the Georgian-German scientific bridge and the partnership’s 20-year experience.

According to Reactor “The Georgian-German consortium is a unique opportunity for friendship and cooperation between scientists from both countries. The scientific community will also implement many important joint projects under this partnership’s framework.

It is worth noting that during these 20 years, dozens of students and PhD students were sent to Germany for higher education facilities. It is important that this project gives Georgian post-doctorate students the opportunity to improve  their qualifications in Germany then return to Georgia and continue their scientific work in their homeland.

The Members of the Georgian-German Scientific Bridge (GGSB) are mainly from Germany’s (Jülich Research Center (FZJ), Darmstadt Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ions (GSI), Dresden-Rossendorf Helmholtz Center (HZDR) and from Georgia as well as  a consortium of partner universities which includes the  Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Agrarian University of Georgia (AUG), Ilia State University (ISU), Technical University of Georgia (GTU) and Kutaisi International University (KIU).

A significant number of people attended the event. They also took this opportunity to share their ideas with each other. The reactor in the end thanked all participants for their esteem presence.
