Tbilisi, Georgia: Tbilisi City Hall will build another multifunctional community center in the Didube district. Within the project, 16,000 sq. m in the Dighomi massive, three blocks will be built in the territory of the M area, where different sports and cultural spaces will be arranged.
The mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, together with deputy Andria Basilaya, got acquainted with the details of the mentioned center project. He noted, “Today, we are announcing another great project. Years ago, in this area, there was a large health center, swimming pool, gyms, and sports courts.“
The Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated, “During the previous government, it was a private owner, maintaining the ten-year-old status. And then, the investor could carry out the construction work, even if he demolished the complex and built a building here.”
“We had active negotiations with the landlord, agreed on a relocation, and the territory was returned to the municipality and the population.” “It is important for us in principle that constructions do not happen at the expense of recreational or sports spaces. We promote urban development, construction, and the business sector, but all this must be done urbanally,” added Kakha Kaladze.
The Mayor of Tbilisi also said, “We already have a project. Tender for construction works will be announced in the near future. First of all, the emergency building will be dismantled, and then we will begin the construction of the center. This will be the biggest center in Tbilisi that we have built – 16,000 sq.m. Putting it on the m.“
According to the project, there will be two swimming pools, two tennis courts that will be in a closed building, something new that no other center has. There will be gyms, training spaces, basketball and football fields, mini football field, etc. .. “, Kakha Kaladze noted.
In addition, the building will house a conference space, learning auditoriums, hotel rooms, sports shop, barber hall, artistic gymnastics, and dance hall.
This project will be implemented by the City Service of Culture, Education, Sports, and Youth Affairs of
Tbilisi City Hall and will cost 45,728,748 Gel for the works.
