Tbilisi, Georgia: The mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, and the head of the property management agency, Giorgi Kobiashvili, handed over their property certificates to the citizens living in ten districts of Tbilisi.
The Mayor of Tbilisi said, “We are continuing the legislative program, which we started in 2017. We have supported so many people over the years. Today, 30 families living in different districts have been given residential areas. I am very happy for their news, I join in their happiness.”
He also mentioned, “I want to wish these families all the best. I will reiterate here once again that anyone facing a similar problem should contact their district council. Our staff will help explain what documentation needs to be collected to start the process and legalize the areas.”
“Generally, under this program, as of today, hundreds of millions of GEL of state property is registered and transferred to families who have been living in illegal areas for decades. The program will continue until all the families are satisfied with the spaces, – Kakha Kaladze noted.
The event of handing over property certificates was attended by leaders of all ten districts of Tbilisi, majority of deputies of the city council, and parliament delegates.
According to the initiative of the mayor of the capital, the process of legalizing residential areas for citizens continues. Citizens, who have had problems with legalizing residential areas for years, will be given residential areas at a symbolic price.
Up to a hundred applications from those seeking legislation have been received in the municipality’s hall, which are being considered and satisfied step by step. Within the program, at this stage, up to 3,150 families are satisfied.
