Tbilisi: The Mayor of the capital, Kakaka Kaadze congratulated the para-athletes. They returned to the country after participating in the Paris Para-Olympic Games.
The city administration organized a welcoming ceremony at the Palace of State Ceremonies for the returning Paralympians. At the XVII Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, para-athletes won for Georgia one gold, four silver and four bronze medals. This was an excellent achievement by Georgian para-Olympic in the history of Georgian para-sports.
At the event the Mayor of the capital Kakha Kaladze also addressed the Paralympians and congratulated them on their success. In his address the Mayor stated “We remember with how much hope we sent you to Paris. I am glad that today we are sharing happy moments with you together with all of Georgians. This is the greatest, one might say unprecedented success that we have achieved so far at the Paralympics.”
During his address the Mayor also added “It is happiness when you can make the whole of Georgia happy and unite like this. Your success is our country’s success and I hope we will witness many more victories in the future. Behind these victories we see your most extraordinary efforts. I have been involved in sports for years and I understand how much hard work it takes to be successful. For this I want to thank each of you very much once again.
The Mayor of the capital also emphasized the state’s support for sports so that the country can excel in sports events in the future. According to the Mayor the Government under the Prime Minister is making great efforts to support the country’s sports culture.
Mayor said I would like to thank Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze for his support and cooperation, which he showed towards para-athletes and in general for his attitude towards sports.
I want to assure that there will always be support from our side, whether it is for creating new infrastructure, encouraging athletes or expressing gratitude. I want to congratulate you once again and wish you great success, improvement of your personal results and progress as well.
