Tbilisi, Georgia: The Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, met with 35 families living in Isani, Samgori and Mtatsminda districts who had had problems legalizing their homes for years, and handed over ownership certificates on February 20, 2025, Thursday.Â

According to the City hall’s posted video, it should be noted that the mayor of the capital Kakha Kaladze handed over property certificates to families living in different districts of Tbilisi.
The mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze in the video stated, “Today, we have legalized housing for 35 families. I want to congratulate them and first of all, wish them health and happiness. I know they have been waiting for this day for a long time. We started implementing this program in 2017 and already have over 3,300 families satisfied. “
According to him this program will surely continue until all people who face the same problem, will not be provided with housing. The mayor also urged the citizens to apply to their district council and their staff will help them track the documents that are to be submitted so that people can later legalize the areas where they have lived for years. “Thus, a million GEL state property has been transferred to families, which I am very happy,” he added.
It should also be noted that together with the mayor of Tbilisi, the leaders of the relevant districts, as well as the head of the property management agency Sergo Birkadze, and the majoritarian deputy of Tbilisi City Council Kakha Labuchidze were also present at the event.
The process of transferring residential areas that have been illegal for years started in 2017 on Kakha Kaladze’s initiative. Hundreds of applications have been received from the capital city hall wishing to legalize areas, which are being considered and satisfied step by step.
