Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew, on behalf of the Government strongly condemns the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir which claimed the lives of 26 innocent people.
Social media is flooded with recent posts on the terrorist assault in Pahalgam. Based on details collected from social media, it should be noted that on April 22, 2025, four armed militants opened fire on a group of largely Indian tourists.
The attack took place in the meadows of Pahalgam, where people from various parts of India had gathered for vacation. Five of the victims were state residents, according to confirmation from Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
It is worth mentioning that, this was the second-largest terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir after the Pulwama attack which took place in 2019. Along with the whole world, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the incident through his social media handles.
In a post on social media platform X formerly Twitter on April 23, 2025 (Wednesday), Prime Minister Terrance Drew said that St Kitts and Nevis has also joined the international community in denouncing this senseless act of violence and will continue to mourn the innocent lives lost as a result of the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India.
“We stand in full solidarity with the Government and people of India during this time of sorrow,” he added.
This strong commitment of St Kitts and Nevis in standing with India in times of crisis shows their utmost dedication to maintaining global peace and security.
