Georgia: The Chairman of the Adjara Government, Tornike Rizhvadze, took a significant step in addressing the organizational issues of the summer tourist season. He called a crucial working meeting in the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Adjarian Tourism and Resorts.
The plan to promote and stimulate tourism was discussed at the meeting. Tornike Rizhvadze noted that it is important to maintain the positive dynamics in tourism by coordinated work so that Adjara can be an attractive destination in all four seasons. Important activities have been planned to increase tourist flows in high-mountain Adjara further.
In a testament to the thriving tourism sector, the number of domestic and foreign visitors in 2023 reached an impressive 4.6 million, marking a significant increase of +20% from the previous year and +10.4% from 2019.
With increasing tourist dynamics in Adjara, 2024 also started. According to the data of the first quarter of 2024, the number of visits by domestic and foreign visitors amounts to more than 850 thousand, an increase of +11% compared to the analogous in 2023 and +34% compared to the analogous in 2019.
As the new season dawns, Adjara is brimming with exciting developments. These include significant advancements in road infrastructure, sports facilities, and tourist infrastructure, all of which are poised to enhance the tourism experience in the region.
During the summer tourist season, flights from Batumi will be carried out in 12 countries to more than 25 destinations.
Seawater monitoring has been carried out. The study of water samples showed that the seawater in the Adjara coastline meets all the established norms.
