Tbilisi, Georgia:Â Traffic will be prohibited on some streets of Tbilisi due to the events dedicated to May 26. In the first stage, restrictions of movement will affect Republic Square.
From May 21, 07:00 to May 27, vehicles on Republic Square are not able to move in the direction of Merab Kostava Street. During this period, traffic on Republic Square is completely restricted; from 20:00 May 23 to 00:00 May 24, traffic will be prohibited, and the parking lane will be cleared on Shota Rustaveli Avenue, from Republic Square to Freedom Square.
The restriction will be in effect from 00:00 May 25 to 07:00 May 27, during which time vehicles will be prohibited on Rustaveli Avenue and Freedom Square. During this time, movement will be possible to the First Republic Square and the ramp near Nikoloz Baratashvili Bridge.
The movement will be restricted from Kote Abkhazia and Shalva Dadiani streets to Freedom Square. Traffic for private vehicles will be allowed with the help of Giorgi Leonidze, Pavle Ingorova, Alexander Chavchavadze, Alexander Griboedov, Nikoloz Baratashvili, and Revaz Tabukashvili streets.
The direction of traffic will change on Ivane Machabeli Street. Specifically, it will be possible to get to Giorgi Leonidze Street from Lado Asatiani Street through Ivane Machabeli Street.
From Petre Melikishvili Avenue, it will be possible to reach the rest of Mtatsminda streets via Simon Janashia, Ivane Tarkhnishvili, Tamar Chovelidze, Mikheil Zandukeli streets and afterward, using Vasil Barnov, Jacob Gogebashvili, and Polikarpe Kakabadze streets.Â
From the rest of the Mtatsminda district streets to Melikishvili Avenue and the Rustaveli metro station will be allowed through Alexander Griboedov, Kote Makashvili, Vasil Barnov, and Akaki Shanidze streets.
Public transport routes in these areas will also be changed during the restriction period. Public transport moving from Melikishvili Avenue in the direction of Freedom Square will move to Olive Tree, from where it will connect to Baratashvili Street through Mikheil Javakhishvili Street and the right bank of Mtkvari, turn to the beginning of Alexander Chavchavadze Street and then continue the road according to the established scheme.Â
Those buses from Gorgasli Street to Baratashvili Street will move to Europe Square, connect to Baratashveli Street via the left bank of Mtkvari and Baratashvila Bridge, and then move according to the established scheme.
Traffic on the Tbilisi-Kojri highway will be stopped at Amalba Street N11, and passengers will be served from the same address in the wrong direction.
