Tbilisi, Georgia: The American MD Program of Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU) recently held Pitch to Match Night, where students showcased their innovative ideas to the audience.
Within the event’s framework students had the opportunity to present their creative projects to a wide audience, which, on the one hand will facilitate their communication with the medical community and on the other hand, will encourage future leaders of the medical field.
The first event of “Pitch to Match 2024” was opened with the welcoming words of the director of the American program of the medical degree, Associate Professor Eka Ekaladze, and the head of the project, Associate Professor Nona Janikashvili.
The event was attended by the distinguished society of the medical field, working doctors, professors, and teachers of TSU, including the rector of TSU, Professor Irakli Natroshvili, who addressed the students and guests and emphasized the importance of innovations in the fields of medical education and health care.
Student presentations covered mental health and social support, diagnostic innovation, prognosis and risk assessment, telemedicine and patient engagement, health system efficiency, chronic disease, and more.
The event ended with a communication session, which gave the participating students the opportunity to engage in post-presentation dialogue and network.
From now on, Pitch to Match Night will be an annual tradition of the US MD program, allowing students to explore and share with the community the transformative ideas that can potentially improve the field of medicine.
