Ukraine: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has warned Russia of massive retaliation against Russia if they strike the country on their Independence day. Warning Russia, he said, “If they hit us, they will receive a response, a powerful response.I want to say that each day, this response will grow, it will get stronger and stronger.”

Ukraine’s independence day will coincide with the six months to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Thus, it is being speculated that Russia will strike on the eve of the Ukrainian Independence day on August 24.

Moreover, the US Embassy in Ukraine has urged its citizens residing in Ukraine to leave the country as soon as possible. The intel received by the US reveals the probability of Russia preparing to intensify the attack on Ukraine. The Government and other civilian infrastructure to be the main targets of the strikes this time, as per the reports.

August 24 marks the Ukrainian break from Soviet rule and being free. Therefore, Zelenskyy has said that ‘Russia might try something ugly’. At a conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Zelenskyy stated that there is a high chance of a Russian strike on independence as the Ukrainian intelligence works with foreign intelligence.

On being asked about the probability of the attack, Zelenskyy clearly agreed. “Russia does this all the time. They can hit anytime on 23-24 August, and the number could be greater than before. The response to the attack on Kyiv would be as similar and strong as on other Ukrainian cities, said Zelenskyy.

The Ukrainian President doesn’t seem to be the one stepping back in this war. Neither does Russian President Putin, and the war is sure to be prolonged.
