Georgia: The representatives of the UNESCO World Heritage Center and its advisory bodies – ICOMOS and ICCROM visited Georgia’s World Heritage Site – Mtskheta historical monuments.
The Ministry of Culture of Georgia shared the glimpses of their visit on its official Facebook Page on March 10, 2026, Tuesday. The Culture Ministry also shared a small note about their visit, along with its glimpses.
The members of the mission will evaluate the overall state of the conservation of monuments, the special regime of urban construction in Mtskheta, the moratorium, the effectiveness, and spatial development issues.
Within the framework of the visit, today, under the auspices of the Ministry of Regional Development of Georgia, a working meeting was held, during which actual issues related to Mtskheta, including the city, were discussed. Issues of Mtskheti spatial development management documentation were discussed. The meeting was led by the Minister of Regional Development of Georgia, Kakhaber Guledani, and Deputy Minister of Culture of Georgia Giorgi Mirtskulava.
