Tbilisi: In another setback to ruling party of Georgia, the United Kingdom Minister send a strong message to Georgia to stop violence. The UK Minister of State for Europe, North America and UK Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty in his message asks Georgia to stop violence against media and journalists.
UK’s minister in his talks over phone to Georgia’s Minister have shed lights on Police Violence, Arbitrary Arrests in Georgia also. He asked the foreign minister of Georgia Maka Botchorishvili to use maximum caution while dealing with the protesters.
In a statement UK” s minister said that he has clearly spoken about all issues with Georgian side. Moreover, he also extends his message to Georgian side that such arbitrary action against peaceful protesters will not be accepted. The government of United Kingdom is open to use any option against the culprits who are responsible as well.
On the other hand, Georgian foreign Ministry also shared information in this regard. As per press statement issues by Georgian foreign ministry it was revealed that, “In a phone conversation both sides have discussed bilateral relation in which special focus was laid on state violence against the protesters.
It is also worth to note that the UK minister in his message of Georgian expressed deep concern about current events. Meanwhile foreign Minister of Georgia have criticised comments by UK minister.
She said that action of UK’s government to suspend another round of Wardrop Strategic Dialogue and the suspension of programmatic support is also very unwelcoming.
However Georgian government representative said that we are hopeful that this Wardrop Strategic Dialogue which have been suspend now will be resumed again shortly also. This was also emphasis by Georgian side that this Wardrop Strategic Dialogue will have multiple benefits for both sides.
The Georgian Minister Maka Botchorishvili on his phone conversation have also discuss that false propaganda of opposition parties. According to her the opposition parties are misleading people however the entire process was transparent and fair.
She said, Georgian Dream is always committed for country’s integration into European Union. Moreover, false propaganda of opposition parties against ruling regime will be defeated soon.
