Georgia:Â Bagdasar Oganesiani, a former director of the village Sadzeli public school and a veteran teacher of Armenian language and literature, celebrated his 75th birthday on February 13, 2024.Â
He was visited by the mayor of Akhaltsikhe municipality, Irakli Lazarashvili, and other local officials, who congratulated him on his anniversary and praised him for his contribution to education.
Oganesiani, who served his profession faithfully and with dignity for 40 years, has raised many generations of students. He worked in the schools of Sadzeli, Tskruti and Pamaji at different times, and retired as the director of Sadzeli public school. He is respected and loved by his former colleagues and pupils, who remember him as a dedicated and inspiring teacher.
The mayor of Akhaltsikhe municipality, Irakli Lazarashvili, awarded Oganesiani a certificate of gratitude for his successful and fruitful achievement. He thanked him for his tireless work and wished him health and courage. He also expressed his appreciation for the role of teachers in the development of the society and the country.
The other officials who visited Oganesiani were the chairman of the Sakrebulo (municipal council), David Lomidze, the deputy mayor, Ruben Karapetiani, the deputy chairman of the assembly, Hambartsum Baboyan, and the head of education, culture and sports service, Ketevan Mishvelidze. They also congratulated him and presented him with flowers and gifts.
Oganesiani thanked the visitors for their kind words and gestures, and shared some of his memories and experiences as a teacher. He said that he was proud of his profession and students and hoped to see more young people pursue teaching as a career.
The visit was part of the local government’s initiative to honor and support the elderly and retired teachers in the municipality, and to acknowledge their valuable service to the community.Â
