The young members of a youth organization share their experience of working with the NGO namely EDEC ( Education Development and Employment Centre). They belong to a youth group “Young People for Young People.”
While speaking about their association with NGO they added “ At Zugdidi municipality, we are glad to announce the promotion of volunteer activities aimed at empowering young people. This was a wonderful opportunity to work with EDEC.”
At the same time speaking further they states “We’re happy to participate in EDEC-sponsored volunteer camp. This EDEC-supported camp has been providing invaluable opportunities to put our theoretical knowledge into practice.” According to members of the youth club the practical aspects of the opportunity provided by the camp are beneficial for enhancing our skills and discovering more about ourselves which will help us work for each other in the future.
The camp was held with the involvement of 23 members who were selected through the organization of a unique competition. The camp has provided the youth camp members to focus on “Emotional Well-being and Health.” At the camp the key speakers informed the members about various issues, including physical and mental health care. They also had the opportunity to interact with the EDEC’s executive director, Natia Namicheshvili.
There was also a special lecture by psychologist Natia Tsyramua on goal setting and achievement and their importance in young life. It is worth mentioning that as ambassadors of emotional well-being and health the youth group members soon lead peer-educator training with the sole objective of sharing the knowledge gained at the EDEC camp as well.
The participating students further added that the project and campus have encouraged us to share our expertise, develop leadership skills and reinforce the idea that nothing is impossible. Another important project for emotional well-being and health is being executed with the support of the Education Development and Employment Center. Moreover, it is being held under the framework of the European Union (EU) and the “Civil Society STAR Initiative.”
