A leading activist Kristine Botkoveli (Nancy Woland) who participated in anti-government protest shared his horrific experience during detention. According to her she was forced to strip naked during search of her house on February 1.
She shared her story publicly recently. Meanwhile former public defender of county Nino Lomjaria says Woland’s case is not an isolated one and many other people are being punished just for their participation in ongoing protests.
While stating her journey she said that two police female officer while entering house told me for my physical search. This was not less than humiliation to me as this was a big psychological setback for me also.
She also shard her pain on social media handles. Botkoveli said in a social media post on February 6 said she was so panicked that even during ongoing search I have taken medical assistance also. They don’t tell me the exact reason behind the search operation and humiliated me throughout their stay at my home.
It is worth to note that she is founder of a Facebook group namely “Daitove”. She used to share and spread necessary information related to protesters. The houses of other members of houses of group were also searched. Moreover, some of the members of group were also arrested after searching their houses also.
The former public defender while criticising the government said that this is very sad that women are being forced to take off their clothes. This is inhuman and and illegal practices.
Other women detained by law enforcers also explained the same fate. According to them this is very shamefully that the protection of law and themselves violating the legal provision.
Notably many women are taking to social media handles to share their humiliating experience. These women were associate with protesters and alleged that they are being punished for their opposition to anti-people policies of government. The many social as well as women organisation also criticises the attitude of Georgian agencies.
