Work of Vaziani Bypass Completes

Tbilisi: The Construction work for Four Laning of the first 4 km of Vaziani bypass on the 35 km Tbilisi-Sagarejo highway has been completed. Traffic has been opened now after the competition work.

A Georgian company has completed this historic infrastructure project of a four-km bypass. It is worth mentioning that “The first four-kilometre section of Kakheti highway has already been opened for road transport for the general public, which is seen as confirmation of important progress in the construction of Kakheti Highway.

As per officials Construction of the remaining two sections in full swing, and we have every reason to say and comment that the construction of the 35 km highway will be completed next year in 2024.

 Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze stated during the inspection of the completed and under construction sections of Kakheti Highway that , we are Making progress on the Sagarejo Bypass work is ongoing and will be completed next year. Also, this year, we have already started the construction of the project financed by the World Bank loan – Sagarejo-Badiauri section. The works are progressing according to the prepared plan, and the completion of this section will be accomplished very soon accordingly, the contract is scheduled to be completed in 2025″.

He said that the Construction of the remaining 31 km of the Tbilisi-Sagarejo highway continues intensively and completion of this construction project is planned in 2024.

Under the framework of this project, a 4-lane cement-concrete expressway equipped with an outdoor lighting system is being built.

This Tbilisi-Sagarejo highway is part of the main highway which connects the Tbilisi Kakheti and also the transit corridor connecting the northwest region of Azerbaijan

Tbilisi-Sagarejo road starts east of Lochin junction and ends east of the village Tokhliauri junction. The highway will also pass by densely populated villages and cities, which include Vaziani, Sartichala, Ninotsminda and Sagarejo.

 As per the expectation, The new road will completely relax traffic in populated areas providing a higher standard of safety for movement and reducing travel times.

Newly constructed roads were very wide, and both sides of road were highly elevated. There are big signs built on the road for the information of travellers.
