Samtredia: To commemorate World Teacher Day, an impressive event was held today there. The teachers of many schools participated in this event. Every year October 5 is observed as World Teacher Day in more than 150 countries.
The Samtredia Municipality took to its social media handles to share information regarding this event. It has also shared glimpses of the event on its official Facebook page. The day is being celebrated in these countries for the past 30 years. The municipal event was also attended by a large number of students from across the municipality.
To celebrate the day with historical significance, the current and former meritorious teachers of Samtredia were once again greeted for their work on the initiative of the municipality’s Mayor’s office, the city council and the educational resource centre.
On this occasion the Mayor of the Municipality Davit Bakhtadze addressed the attendees as well. The Mayor stated “Thank you to all of you worthy teachers of our municipality. You, the worthy teachers in Samtredia serve the task of educating future generations. Your work is invaluable and we will remain indebted to all of you for this.”
The Mayor while speaking further added, “Let’s bow our heads before them (Teachers) once again. Let’s appreciate and respect their work with a little attention. This will be an incentive for future generations and to promote this profession more.”
At the same time, 15 teachers from different municipal public schools were honoured with commemorative gifts, certificates and monetary awards. Tinatin Khardziani the head of the educational resource centre also greeted teachers.
Notably every year such meetings are held to appreciate and reward different teachers working in this field. Tinatin Khardziani underlined that, a teacher not only contributes to education but also to the formation of a teenager as a person.
That is why their work is invaluable, and responsible. I congratulate all worthy teachers on their professional day and wish them success in their future work.
On this occasion Zoya Janashia the chairman of the Samtredia district organization of the Free Trade Union of Teachers and Scientists were also present. They were honoured with gifts and other items.
