Georgian National Wrestling Federation announced that Georgia’s Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling teams have completed their competition with 61 medals at major tournaments like the European, World Championships, and Olympic Games.
The Geo Wrestling Club announced this on their official Facebook page. It was also said that Georgia won 61 medals in total- 12 gold, 12 silver, and 37 bronze medals in those tournaments.
European Championships- The European Championships of wrestling were held in 5 different age categories
- U15-Under 15
- U17-Under 17
- U20-Under 20
- U23-Under 23
- Seniors
In the European Championships, Georgia won 41 Medals in total in which there were 8 gold, 7 silver, and 26 bronze medals.
World Championships- The World Wrestling Championships were held in 4 different age categories
- U17- Under 17
- U20-Under 20

In the World Championships, Georgia won 18 medals in total in which there were 3 gold, 4 silver, and 11 bronze medals.
Olympic Games- In the Olympic Games, Georgia won 1 gold and 1 silver medal.
According to the Georgian National Wrestling Federation, Year 2024 was the most successful year for Georgian wrestlers. Georgians won the maximum number of medals in the year 2024. The federation also believed that it was the most successful year in the history of Georgian wrestling.

Geno Petriashvili
Geno Petriashvili won Olympic gold in Paris in 2024 and collected a complete set of great wrestling achievements. He has medals in all three events of all major tournaments, including European 2, World 3, and Olympic gold medals. It should also be noted that the International Wrestling Federation (IWF) named him the best wrestler of the year in the world.
Avtandil Kenchadze
Avtandil Kenchadze is the second-best wrestler in Georgia. After a 5-year pause, the gold medal of the World Championship in freestyle wrestling came to Georgia. He competed brilliantly in 79 kg and changed the silver gained in 2018 to gold. Rachvelian athlete won bronze at the European Championship this year.
Givi Macharashvili
