Zestafoni Municipality, Georgia: An information meeting was held on changes related to the National Military Service and the Defense Code in the conference hall of Zestafoni City Hall. The meeting was held on June 9, 2025, Monday.
The Zestafoni Municipality City Hall posted glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook page. The City hall also shared some details of the meeting along with its glimpses.
According to the details provided by the City Hall of Zestafoni Municipality, it should be noted that several Ministers attended the meeting and they also presented their point of view accordingly. They spoke about the terms and conditions of the National Military Service of the National Military of the country.
The delegates who attended the meeting are:
- Vakhtang Lomtadze,
- Sergeant of the Center Master Sergeant Giorgi Melikidze,
- Major Mamuka Katsitadze, Senior Vice-Colonel of the Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi, and Lower Svaneti Regional Center
- Senior Major of the Zestafoni Municipal Division Mamuka Kacitadze.
According to the law, starting from 2025 the selection of candidates will be carried out on the basis of annual electronic accident selection. In addition, military service can only be passed in the system of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia.
The following conditions of the National Military Service are:
- Combat Division – 6 months, salary 765 GEL;
- Combat Support and Combat Supply Division – 8 months, salary 635 GEL;
- Junior Commander and Pre-determined Specialty Service – 11 months, Salary for sergeants – 1275 GEL, Salary for officers – 1530 GEL.
Those who voluntarily went to the National Military Service will be assigned to pay 30% more.
Furthermore, it should be noted that the meeting was held in question-answer mode and it was attended by representatives of local self-government along with the mayor of the municipality. At the end of the meeting, the representatives of the Ministry of Defense presented the mayor of the municipality with a memorable gift.
