A biotechnology camp was held in Svaneti on September 9, 2026, Wednesday. The camp was organized by the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology.
It should also be noted that the camp was held with the support of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and the local authorities of the 9 municipalities of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti.
The Ministry of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on September 9, 2026, Wednesday. The Ministry also shared a small note about the meeting along with the glimpses.
According to the small note shared by the Georgian Ministry of Education, it should be noted that Mestia hosted 10 young people, aged 15-17, from each municipality and for 6 days.
As part of the camp, 100 participants were selected. They learned about modern directions in biotechnology, international trends, and their applications in various fields. They also attended training sessions and workshops on programming, biotechnology, and other in-demand fields.
It should be noted that the closing event of the camp was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Education and Culture of the Adjara Autonomous Republic, Guram Bakradze.
Furthermore, the participants presented their team-created prototypes and startup ideas based on the material they had learned to the guests, and also shared the experience they had gained.
The Deputy Minister congratulated the teenagers on completing the camp and presented them with symbolic gifts. He thanked the organizers for creating such an educational and development-oriented opportunity for the youth, including teenagers displaced from Abkhazia.
The closing event was also attended by the Deputy Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Georgian Nadaraia, the representatives from the mayors’ offices of 9 municipalities, the Deputy Chairperson of the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology, and other guests.
