Russia-Ukraine War: The Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed treaties on Friday, illegally annexing the more occupied territory of Ukraine while intensifying his efforts in the ensuing seven-month invasion of Ukraine.
The Russian President stated, “Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia – are now “Russian forever.”
He also pledged to protect the newly annexed areas of Ukraine by “all available means,” a nuclear-backed threat at a Kremlin signing ceremony where he also railed furiously at the West, accusing them of seeking Russia’s destruction.Â
Although Putin has called on Ukraine for conducting peace talks, however he has refrained from discussing handing back the recently occupied regions.
Responding to this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has clearly dismissed any negotiations with Putin stating, “We are ready for a dialogue with Russia, but only with another president of Russia.”
In a ceremony held at Kremlin’s ornate St George’s hall on Friday afternoon, the Russian President accused the West of fuelling the hostilities as part of what, according to him, is a plan to turn Russia into West’s another colony and “crowds of slaves.”
Following this, Vladimir Putin addressed a crowd of people who held high and waved Russian flags in Moscow’s Red Square. Russia does not only open the door to our brothers and sisters but it also opens its heart to them. Welcome home,” Putin said while he delivered the speech announcing the annexation of the occupied Ukrainian territories.
“Victory will be ours,” Putin concluded.Â
