Tbilisi: The President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili, on Monday stated that she wasn’t informed about the recent visit of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to Georgia. The Azerbaijani official visited Georgian for the second time in the last seven years.
Looking at the importance of the topic, the administration of the President of Georgia considers it totally relevant to inform the public that the President had not been informed about the official visit of the President of our neighbouring and friendly country, Mr Ilham Aliyev, to Georgia”.
 Despite the desire and willingness of the Georgian President to meet the Azerbaijani President to conduct the meeting between the Presidents, traditionally held between all heads of state to the country, could not be actually realized, stated the President’s press office.
 Following this, the Georgian President has once again expressed her readiness and desire to conduct an official meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the forthcoming times.
 Earlier, The official from Azerbaijan met with the Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili, on Monday. The officials from the two countries discussed a unique partnership, the regional and global challenges and the security threats arising from the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
 The countries also discussed uplifting their economic upfronts as they plan to increase the export of gas to Europe by two times, sending out nearly 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas by the end of the year 2027.Â
 The Azerbaijani President left Georgia the same evening he had met Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on.
