Georgia: The recent meetings in Tbilisi highlighted significant progress in the strategic and financial partnership between Georgia and Kazakhstan. The discussions focused heavily on enhancing cross-border capital flows, creating shared financial infrastructures, and reinforcing the Middle Corridor economic ecosystem.

The central initiative is the Mutual Access and Recognition Project, which simplifies cross -border investments by allowing financial institutions and issuers direct access to each other’s securities markets.

Building on an existing Memorandum of understanding, the National Bank of Georgia and the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA)are in escalating information exchanges and Administrative cooperation to align financial agreement.

The nation emphasized that the Middle corridor requires a parallel financial ecosystem, focusing on seamless payment kickbacks, open banking coordination and shared regulatory sandboxes.

The discussions hold a strong outset of existing commercial presence , noting that over 550 companies with Georgian participation operate in Kazakhstan , while major Kazakh establishments like Halyk Bank maintain a deep footprint in Georgia.

The meeting effectively translates the cooperative Strategic Partnership Agreement into tangible actions , linking the organizational environments of National Bank of Georgia and the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) to accelerate investment and economic cooperation across the region

The Tbilisi meeting marks a shift from general political agreements to incorporation. By organising the regulatory power of the National Bank of Georgia with the digital capabilities of Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) , both nations are initiating a draft for a Financial Middle Corridor.

This structure ensures that the physical movement of goods across the Caucasus and Caspian is matched by rapid, secure , and low-cost digital capital flows. This partnership positions Georgia and Kazakhstan as the dual financial anchors connecting Central Asian Markets and European Markets.
