Tbilisi: Givi Mikanadze The chairman of the parliament’s committee on education, science, and youth affairs of Georgia met with the Japanese ambassador to Georgia Ishizuka Hideki. Both sides discussed many issues including measures to boost the bilateral issue of the country.
It is to be specifically mentioned that at the meeting the parties discussed the prospects of future cooperation in various directions which will include the people-to-people interaction as well.
Moreover in order to deepen the parliamentary ties they discussed the issue of the visit of the members of the committee on education, science and youth affairs to Japan and the provision of high-level meetings for making the education infrastructure of the country international level.
On this occasion the conversation also touched on the deepening of relations between the two country’s higher educational institutions. Moreover special attention was paid to infrastructural and other support in the education sector.
Speaking specifically on the occasion Givi Mikanadze stated,” We talked about important issues like support that Japan provides to Georgia.”
It should be added that many Japanese experts are involved in authorising Georgian preschool institutions which helps the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth.
The Georgian side also asked the ambassador to extend his mandate as an expert in the mentioned direction. They also talked about the issues of building a Georgian-language kindergarten in the Dmanisi municipality and handing over Japanese machines to the printing house of the Parliament of Georgia.
The Japanese ambassador responded positively to all the topics discussed at the meeting. Givi Mzikanadze said, “We agreed that communication and cooperation on various issues will continue in terms of their implementation”.
Japan’s ambassador on the occasion said that the entry of Georgia into the European Union would open new gates of opportunities for Georgia. He also said that the recent smooth transition of power in Georgia is a reflection of the political stability of the country.
