Dato Gogua the Mayor of Chkhorotsku Municipality of Georgia recently met with local government representatives in villages Akhuti and Lesichine. The meeting was held under the project “One Day in the Village”.
On this occasion, the Mayor listened to the needs of the locals and got to know the problems there. He along with another representative of the municipality assures the locals of the timely assistance to all who need immediate attention.
It is to be specifically mentioned that during the meeting the locals met with the Mayor and held a discussion on social and infrastructure issues. The local citizens during the meeting also demanded to set up of sports infrastructure in the local jurisdiction of the municipality.
Speaking further on the occasion Dato Gogua stated “I have planned to meet with representatives of the relevant city hall services in each district. He also said that directly meeting the population and hearing from them about the needs and problems that concern them was a great experience. He also added that with the active involvement of Government representatives and locals, we can find solutions which is an essential prerequisite for the development of the municipality”.
The Mayor of the municipality also instructed the relevant services to resolve the issues raised at the meeting promptly. However, he also noted that the problems that cannot be solved by the local budget will be solved by coordinated work with the central government.
Additionally the mayor attended the road rehabilitation works in the village of Akhuti and visited the blueberry plantation in Lesichine. Dato Gogua also got acquainted with the state program to promote nut production in these villages.
As per the information these meetings with the population in administrative units within the framework of the project “One Day in the Village” will be held step by step. The mayor also said that this project is an effort to make public policies more people-centric as well.
It is also to be added that people also gave many suggestions to the mayor for the smooth functioning of the municipality by addressing the problems of common residents of the municipality.
