Applications for street art competitions start in Tbilisi

Tbilisi, Georgia: Tbilisi City Hall starts accepting applications for those who wish to participate in the Street Art Competition. The competition starts from April 3 to April 30, 2024.

Funding for street art will be subject to the promotion of art projects that:

• It will emphasize the identity of the city, present Georgian traditional and modern culture, and also consider foreign experience;
• It will promote the creation of new tourist spots in the city and young people’s interest in art;
• It will be directed to address social issues.

Projects that may contain violations of laws defined by the Constitution and other legislative acts of Georgia and discriminatory, offensive visual or textual content are not subject to funding.

According to Georgian law, the participant can submit their application to a legal entity registered in the territory of Georgia or to an entrepreneur individual determined by the Georgian Tax Code.

The projects will be discussed and evaluated by the relevant project review committee within 15 working days after the deadline for submission of applications and a decision of recommendation according to the rules established by Georgian legislation. The project should be implemented by November 30, 2024.

The applicant may submit only one application stating the identity of participating artists, probable sketches of the work to be performed, 3-4 photos of a working wall or other relevant space, a cadre code, and a letter of consent from the owner or company.

If the space does not have a specific owner, the Office reserves the right to agree with the Property Management Agency of Tbilisi Municipality on the matter.

Discussively uploaded documentation and visual material still need to be returned. The Office may, if necessary, ask the applicant for additional documentation/visual material in connection with the application (project).

If the winning applicant presents a bankruptcy or insurance guarantee, an advance payment of up to 80% of the contract cost may be made. The bank guarantee’s validity period should be one month longer than the deadline for implementing the contracted project.
