A ceremony was held at the Constitutional Court of Georgia for the newly appointed judges, Sergo Metofishvili and Goga Kikilashvili.
The Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara shared the glimpses of the gathering on its official Facebook Page on October 5, 2026, Monday. A small note about the gathering was also shared along with its highlights.
The event was attended by the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili; the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Adjara, Tsotne Ananidze; the Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Zurab Pataradze; the Mayor of Batumi, Giorgi Tsintsadze; and judges of the Constitutional Court.
Revaz Nadaraia, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, introduced the newly appointed judges—who possess extensive and diverse experience within the judicial system—to the audience.
The President of Georgia congratulated the new judges on their appointments to these responsible positions and wished them success in their future work. Mikheil Kavelashvili spoke about the special role of the Constitutional Court and the state responsibility borne by a judge.
Sergo Metofishvili was appointed as a judge of the Constitutional Court by the Plenum of the Supreme Court of Georgia, while Goga Kikilashvili was nominated as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Georgia pursuant to orders issued by the President of Georgia.
In accordance with the Organic Law of Georgia “On the Constitutional Court of Georgia,” the term of office of a Constitutional Court member commences on the day the oath is taken.
