The bank of the University a few months ago launched a scholarship program for brilliant and talented students. Now the Georgian International University has also joined the program of bank, there are already sixteen universities that have become part of this program.
For a long time the Bank has been implementing many programs for the student community to provide financial assistance. Under this latest program the students will have the opportunity to avail partial or full scholarships. Anyone with a strong academic background can join the program who is a resident of Georgia. Moreover universities also set some criteria on which the students are selected. Till now 140 beneficiaries have been identified who will receive the study assistance for the next one years.
Chancellor of GIU, Eli Elisashvili while speaking on the importance of the program specifically stated “I would like to strongly advise the students of University to avail the benefits of the program. This is always a good option to avail the benefits of the scholarship schemes if a student has a strong academic background. Moreover, if the opportunity is being provided by a reputed institution like the Bank of Georgia then it becomes more relevant. I also want to extend gratitude to the bank representative for such a great opportunity for university students.”
On the other hand Ana Lomtadze, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Bank of Georgia on this occasion stated that “We at Bank of Georgia always believe the talented students must be rewarded with moral as well as financial support. The bank is implementing almost 40 programs in this direction. We already have the 16 universities on the board for this journey and now GIU entry is a welcoming step again. We have helped more than 100 students till now and their feedback is a strong motivation for us to do our best in future.”
