The work to reconstruct the 33.6 km long section of the Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi highway is going in full swing. The road will benefit domestic travel and save journey time ,fuel expenses.
According to the information shared by the municipality  the initial work for the artificial structures has been completed. Similarly  the premix concert has been laid on a 17 km section out of the total length of the proposed project.
The road will be equipped with the anti-landslide measures. The measures to make the road anti-landslide have been almost completed as well.
There are a total of thirty-five locations selected that are landslide-prone. Gombori Road is very busy and has a high traffic intensity. It is also the shortest road distance towards the direction of Akhmet, Telavi, and Kvareli municipalities.
It is to be specifically mentioned that  as per the project plans the complete rehabilitation of the roadway includes the laying of asphalt-concrete pavement, rehabilitation of 6 bridges, anti-slide measures, etc.
The road will be equipped with measures for traffic regulation to ensure smooth traffic regulation as well. Notbaly there are many pojects which are being executed with the help of international donations . Â The donation are being received with the objective of rebuilding the country after the huge devastation caused by the country’s war with Russia in 2008.
The Georgian government also announced that it will seek financial assistance from the World Bank for the implementation of road infrastructure projects.  The Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi road starts from the Vaziani settlement and passes through many villages, including Paldo, Otaraant Kari, Sasadilo, Gombori, Kobadze, Tetrtsklebi, Ujarma, and ends at Telavi city.
The administration has engaged heavy road construction machinery to complete the work within the stipulated time. The road has zigzag shapes and crosses through forest areas before reaching the destination.
The project is also being financed with 66,700,000 GEL from the state budget. The work is planned to be completed in the end of 2024. The official of the road construction company   expressed hope that the work would be completed within the prescribed time limit.
